Your kidney score, or eGFR (estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate), is calculated using a simple test. A normal kidney score is 100. If your kidney score is < 06 (less than), you may have significant chronic kidney disease.
Next time you visit your doctor, make a point of asking to have your Kidney Score calculated.
Any time you have routine blood work done all the information needed to calculate your Kidney Score is already on hand. It’s just a matter of having your doctor plug it into a formula to complete the calculation. It’s as easy as asking, and knowing your Kidney Score could save your life.
