Question originally asked by Cretia from New Orleans
While it’s great that you’re eating healthy and remembering to drink water (have at least eight per day), it sounds like you’re afternoon slump or that drop in blood sugar is continuing until you get home.
Blood glucose is the sugars circulating through the blood. When food is digested, the sugars circulate providing normal brain function, so it is important to keep those sugar levels stable all day long. To avoid that evening overeating and to help you have more energy during the day, I recommend that you eat small meals. Have six small meals over the course of the day instead of three large ones.
Eating a lot at once overwhelms your body, causing it to work harder to digest the food. The digestive process diverts blood away from your brain and your extremities. Best of luck to you in your quest for healthy eating!

I think I eat a well-balanced breakfast (apple, yogurt, cereal bar) and lunch (fruit, cereal or soup) and I drink water. But when I get home from work I'm starving and overeat. What should I do?
